About Esto

Esto is in Mamaroneck, New York, a village about 20 miles northeast of New York City, on the north shore of the Long Island Sound. The office is in a building that was first a stable, later an icehouse and then a sail loft. The space was originally renovated about 30 years ago for offices, archives, studio space and the photo production facility. Within the last couple of years, the lab spaces were re-renovated to create a large digital work area and to provide more storage space as well.

Erica Stoller, the director of Esto, works with a small, well-trained staff to manage the archive, handle research requests and arrange photography assignments for the collaborating architectural photographers: Peter Aaron, Francis Dzikowski, Jeff Goldberg, Anton Grassl, Peter Mauss, David Sundberg, Jeffrey Totaro and Albert Vecerka.

Susan Herpel, herself a photographer, deals new images as they are received from assignment photographs and from stock contributors. Joel Sanders coordinates new assignments with clients and photographers. Christine Cordazzo is the primary researcher and arranges licensing. David La Spina, now working part-time, handles the ever-expanding digital library. Production orders are coordinated by Steve Kabza. Amanda Jinks heads the digital department and works with Christine Walsh on file processing, scanning, output and delivery. Ellen Oster helps with information management... and everything. Morunda Moore and Margaret Griffith work on bookkeeping. Chris Gray of C S Gray Studio is a close colleague who prepares image files to pre-press standards.
