As we continue to expand our stock archive, we are pleased to announce a new collaboration with VIEW, the British picture agency. Based in London, covering Britain, Europe and the world, VIEW, as does Esto, works with assignment and stock photographers to build its image collection that concentrates on architecture and the built environment. Founded by three leading architectural photographers – Dennis Gilbert, Peter Cook and Chris Gascoigne in 1997 and joined by Paul Raftery in 2000- VIEW now represents over 35 photographers.

Esto and View will be sharing images and information, primarily dealing with stock imagery but making referrals for assignment work as well. All in all, we will collaborate to solve image needs for our clients. And almost right away (but doesn’t every good idea take a while to hatch?) Esto and View images will all be searchable via our online database, www.estostock.com.

Esto is collaborating with ARTstor, the on-line image archive for academic and scholarly purposes. The Wayne Andrews collection has been digitized and more than 4000 images are now available for ARTstor institutional subscribers and on the Esto database for editorial and commercial use. Now a selection of the Stoller images is being scanned by ARTstor under the same arrangement.

In Mamaroneck, many staff changes. Joel Sanders is working with the assignment photographers. David LaSpina, now enrolled at Yale MFA Photography program, continues to shepherd the image archive, but on a part-time basis. He is being helped with data management and keywording by Kiely.

The staff now, in addition to Joel, David and Aaron, includes Amanda, Steve, Joel, Ellen, Christine, Susan, Morunda, Margaret. And sometimes, Bill.

Everybody’s busy. Ethan’s getting bigger. Dakota is too. Net@Work is doing fine, embedded in nearly every part of this business. Our hybrid endeavor, assignment photography, the stock image archive, and supervision and delivery of production work, too, is large enough to be complicated, but too small for a totally segmented staff all the specific projects involved. And keeping the website up to date is one of the most difficult on-going tasks!
