“It takes observation and movement to find a building’s sweet spots. I do a lot of looking with my feet.”
David Sundberg is actively involved with contemporary architecture and travels widely on assignment. Recent work in the New York area includes Frank Gehry’s 8 Spruce Street; the Bank of America Tower by Cook + Fox; SOM’s One World Trade, the Calatrava West Concourse Tunnel and Grimshaw’s Fulton Street Transit Center. In June 2014 David photographed OFFICEUS at the Venice Biennale.
Sundberg grew up in St Louis, studied in New York and Paris and graduated from NYU with a degree in photography. With a keen sensitivity to the way light and time impact the perception of space, David creates dynamic, complex and engaging images.
Often David complements still images with motion, and he has recently been collaborating on video production as an architectural cinematographer, offering an expert eye to enhance the video documentation. His work with the production team at Birdlings involved a project for Telx.
